60 years since its first debut, the fiat 500 spiaggina has been revealed in a new, modernized beach-ready configuration. to celebrate the car‘s birthday, garage italia and pininfarina collaborated to re-shape the body of a ‘500C’ and fit some retro wheels, with the release set to be limited to 1958 editions — symbolizing the year of the original spiaggina’s creation.

bathed in a blue and white color combination, the fiat spiaggina loses its roof, rails and rear seats in favor for a beach-tailored open top and back. a cover slides away to reveal a sun deck below that extends as the tailgate opens. as well as holding all the essentials for a trip to the seaside, this compartment also houses a built-in shower to wash away the sand at the end of a day’s sunbathing session. the exterior is finished with a white B-pillar arch – for support- that corresponds as it returns to the side’s livery, specifically the white rim in reference to yachting.

inside the interior, which matches the colors and style of the exterior, the beach car’s front seat has been replaced with a tailor-made bench, which was typical of 1960s design. the cabin is upholstered with blue-and-white waterproof leather, whilst all metal parts, such as handles, mirrors, and rims, are finished with polished chrome that sparkles in the sun.
