ethimo 'knits' new outdoor furniture pieces by patrick norguet

first created in collaboration with patrick norguet in 2015, the ethimo knit collection epitomizes outdoor living by intertwining style with functionality and comfort. the furniture range has now grown to enrich its image of alfresco relaxation. this is with the additions of two new elements: a lounging sofa and armchair.

the additions announce a new chapter for the ethimo knit collection, one which envisions the outdoor lounge. both pieces resemble an experimentation of volumes, finishes and unusual fabrics but distinguish a welcoming appearance overall. they each display unmistakable features too. the sofa’s design, for example, embraces a knitted seat back that supports its generous cushions as it wraps from the wooden armrests to the seat base. similarly, the armchair’s knitted back acts as a soft web that links to all parts of its wooden structure.

like the rest of the collection, the sofa and armchair follow the same DNA by uniting natural or pickled teak with woven rope. their voluminous, cosy fabric seat is available in new textures – chess and red diamonds – as it upholsters the cushions and seat backs. its large knit evokes a sense of softness whilst its warm wood structure invites an intriguing tactility. this balance helps it convey a high sense of well-being.
