situated on redchurch street in east london, singapore and london-based interior architects shed have developed the flagship store for etat libre d’orange fragrances. conceived as a 30 sqm. renovation, the spatial transformation presents a provocative configuration that lives up to the intrigue and persona of the french cult brand. informed by a unique approach to perfume, the fragrances are treated as personalities that can be worn, each manifested as tiled ‘shell’ concepts. the overall plan resembles a gallery installation; the center of the room is a tiled laboratory with selected fragrances positioned behind a dominant mural at the back of the interior space.
