art and design collective studio nucleo and driade have launched the first outdoor collection for extraterrestrial living during milan design week. on the occasion of the italian furniture brand’s 50th anniversary, the designers reinterpreted its most iconic pieces by enzo mari, philippe starck and naoto fukasawa and set them in a futuristic domestic environment conceived by writer and curator gianluigi ricuperati.

directed by piergiorio robino, the turin-based collective selected four driade masterpieces and recreated them as if they were made on lunar ground. the 3D-printed collection features a material similar to regolith, the substance of dust, soil and broken rock present on the moon’s surface.

taking its cues from studies conducted by the european space agency, the ‘driade moon mission’ invited visitors to explore what home spaces may look like in 2068. realized in collaboration with barbara de micheli, maurizio cilli and the ipw institute for production of wonder, the installation featured film, live performances and audio.
