The electric evolution, or better yet ENVOlution, is growing as engineering company ENVO Drive is aiming to design the next generation of sustainable personal transportation. Through the competition ‘ENVO Next Move’, the electric mobility business is dedicated to encourage leading minds to shape the future as participants are invited to submit their innovative proposals. Each individual or team should aim to come up with original concepts that respect ENVO’s principles towards modern, easy-to-maintain, reasonably priced, electric designs.

‘ENVO Next Move’ competition aims to design the next generation of sustainable personal transportation

ENVO started in 2015 as a one-person business in a small flat in Vancouver. With a deep understanding of the environmental impact of fossil fuels, the team grew with passionate engineers. Since then, over 12,000 riders in the company’s community collectively save over 85 Million kgs of CO2 every year by opting for clean energy. The global movement towards cleaner air and reduced greenhouse emissions has become a primary driver for a greener future and ENVO Drive is expanding it even further with its ‘Next Move’ competition. From navigating the city to exploring nature, people are invited to envision what the e-mobility future holds.

The global design contest is encouraging individuals or teams to think outside the box as the main idea behind the challenge is to go beyond a conventional competition. ENVO wishes to see visionary and creative minds that are keen to shape the transportation future, without professional qualifications required. Whether designing for extreme snow conditions, nature terrains or off-road trails, watercraft systems or micro-mobility, each project must respect environmental sustainability and footprint; social awareness in regards to economy and future evolution; and long-term business viability.

After the first round of the competition, 50 designs from all categories (see here) are selected to proceed to the second round. These chosen participants will then be supported by a team of mobility experts over three weeks, who will offer mentoring and feedback with the goal of improving the feasibility of the designs. In the final stage, the jury picks three projects as winners, who will receive cash prizes of $10,000 CAD.

the winner may receive a total cash prize of 15,000 C$

A Golden Buzzer Fund is as impactful as it sounds. If a jury comes across a design with extraordinary potential to develop, then 5000 C$ are given in order to aid the prototype development, which will be carried together with ENVO – a partnership agreement that clarifies the rights and benefits. The project that receives the fund, will also consequently receive a total cash prize of 15,000 C$.
