Dare To Dream Design Awards

 

 

melco crown entertainment, with the support of designboom, has launched its signature CSR series ‘Dare to Dream’ by presenting the Dare to Dream Design Awards themed『着物×きもの×KIMONO』. the competition looks to preserve and promote the understanding of the history and beauty of the traditional japanese kimono, while reviving the unique culture and practices around the garment, as well as develop new possibilities and avenues of creative exploration, traditions and production techniques related to the kimono.

 

the Dare to Dream Design Awards is divided into two sections which invites creatives to submit their concepts to the categories of:

 

1) FREE DESIGN
seeking ideas that respond to traditional and contemporary kimono culture. the concepts can relate directly, or be influenced by the kimono and delivered in the form of: fashion, product, architecture, interiors, industrial design, graphic design, and lifestyle.

 

2) GRAPHIC DESIGN
seeks original and innovative motifs and patterns (repeating and non-repeating) for kimonos.

 

the Dare to Dream Design Awards is open to applicants from every country in the world – from professionals, students, to design-enthusiasts; and registration is free.

 

the registration period of the Dare to Dream Design Awards is now open, and qualifying submissions should be received by october 6, 2014 at 23:59PM (GMT). for more information on how to participate, read the full call-for-entries and official rules.
