daniel haarburger: handleband smartphone bicycle mount

in some american cities, as few as 15% of bike commuters have adequate lighting on their bicycles; existing solutions do not perform as required, phone mounts are large and immobile, complicated and unsafe, with many moving parts that are easy to break or lose. as a response, designer daniel haarburger has developed the ‘handleband’, a versatile, single-piece, silicone band that wraps around the bike’s handlebar, securing one’s smartphone or additional accesories. the attachment also serves as a connection point for a flashlight for night riding, and doubles as a bottle opener. for more information about the ‘handleband’ check out haarburger’s kickstarter page as he is currently seeking funding.
