cristian mohaded reuses discarded carpet material in ninho collection

cristían mohaded is an argentinian industrial designer whose work ranges from lighting to furniture to objects, portraying and containing brutal honesty and sensory richness. during paris design week he presented ‘ninho’—nest in portuguese—a collection of bowls and mirrors that have its outer surface covered in the main material discarded from carpet edges. the overlapping layers result in volumes that seem to grow around the object, containing its perimeter. once again, the creative has taken a discarded part of a massive production industry to transform it into an object of contemplation that becomes a material provocation to the sense, achieved from the unconventional use of materials.

the bowls result in different sizes 

‘ninho’ by cristían mohaded is presented in different sizes and curved shapes that give place to rounded surfaces generated by the filaments. the material is showcased as a rigid coat fur forming defined surfaces and volumes. a natural appearance and color resemble an animal fur that dresses the object. the collection was showed at gallery s. bensimon, where people had the chance to get a closer look and a tactile experience of the products.
