claesson koivisto rune has developed ‘soft’, a hybrid between a generic door handle and a design one, that is both playful and strict at the same time. when seen from the front, soft appears like a normal handle, yet, when viewed from a higher angle, its smooth, curved angles reveal a surprising form that is the result of careful ergonomic research of the hand and its grip.

created for turn, a new brand established in singapore in 2017 that aims to create innovative door handles, ‘soft’ features a thicker than normal lever that sits exceptionally well in the hand and lends it an iconic appearance. claesson koivisto rune aimed at designing a fitting that works ‘equally well within normal, modernist, futuristic as well as classic architecture.’ additional to the collection, the swedish architectural partnership has also developed a soft, square knob along the same principles.
