for ICFF in new york, claesson koivisto rune has developed the plum seating collection – an armchair, small sofa and easy chair – with the intent of creating a soft and welcoming appearance. like a real-life embrace, the semicircular profiles and rounded surfaces give the series for capdell a subtly minimal character with a combination of progressive curves. ‘a great deal of attention has been given to sculpting the volumes of each piece,‘ explain CKR, ‘making them attractive from all angles and even when seen from behind.’

the footprint of the armchair has been minimized, and four wheels can be added to increase ease of movement. seating comfort is emphasized with generous padding for ergonomic back support. ‘imagine a hotel lobby or a private lounge setting – the design must work in any situation,’ the designers add.
