E-paper has already been touted as a sound alternative to the newspapers, magazines, and books.
the dutch-korean venture LG.philips LCD (now called LG display co ltd) will show the world’s first
14.1-inch flexible color E-paper display, equivalent in size to an A4 sheet of paper. they introduced
the world’s first 14.1-inch black and white flexible E-paper display in may 2006. the flexible color
E-paper uses electronic ink to produce a maximum of 4,096 colors. it can be viewed from a full
180 degrees, so that images always appear crisp, even when the display is bent.

it uses a thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology. LG display uses metal foil and plastic substrate rather than glass substrate to make the flexible color E-paper display bendable and durable while maintaining excellent display qualities. electronic ink  is a breakthrough but it will be tough for it to battle the price factor with the newspapers, and magazines.

esquire’s 75th anniversary issue had the world’s first E-cover, which on september 8th hit newsstands. see the cover here . the inside front cover also uses moving electronic imagery to showcase the new 2009 ford flex.
