‘ermes’ multi-function scarf by gianfranco setzu

‘ermes’, by italian designer gianfranco setzu is a project to create a scarf influenced by the classic hermès carré, with references to the world of horse riding – embellished with pompous decorations, rich in details and symbols that express a vision and a refined lifestyle. instead of the classic knight wearing the parade uniform, an undressed roman marble statue, a messenger riding a donkey is made visible. the corners of the textile are adorned with blossoming prickly pear cacti, composed in an interwoven decorative pattern of knots and stirrups to form a precarious and random structure, free from geometrical and rigorous shapes. developed for multi-use scenarios, the scarf transforms into headpieces, carrying bags and backpacks depending on how the piece is folded.
