bottega veneta opens its first store in cancun

Bottega Veneta introduces its first store in Cancun, Mexico, designed by creative director Matthieu Blazy. Spanning 349 square meters, the new retail space continues the brand’s dedicated exploration of materials of the Italian tradition, nodding to its connection to craft and the Veneto region. The Cancun store particularly draws inspiration from Mediterranean coastal architecture, featuring a sleek application of Venetian marmorino plaster, uplifted by strong wooden accents.

The uniquely carved Bottega Veneta store in Cancun recreates an intimate and warm atmosphere, with Matthieu Blazy’s (see more here) signature, voluptuous curves and organically bold accents that stretch across the new retail space. Stepping inside, visitors discover organic slabs of stone called Palladiano terrazzo, a technique typically seen in grand villas, gently combined with teak wood, terracotta tiles, and the Venetian marmorino plaster.

The store officially opened on April 5th, 2024, and showcases a wide range of the Summer 2024 collection by Matthieu Blazy, including an exclusive, limited-edition Sardine bag, entirely handcrafted from raffia and contrasting supple leather, alongsie leather goods, ready-to-wear, and shoes. This is the first Bottega Veneta store in Cancun and the seventh one in Mexico.
