if you get airstream vibes from this aluminum travel trailer, it’s probably because the founder of airstream first worked at bowlus road chief — a company recently revived by 28-year-old CEO geneva long. under long’s leadership, road chief has rolled out four high-tech offerings, including their latest edition here, endless highways.

inspired by her parents’ restoration of a vintage bowlus road chief, geneva long rode around the country, dreaming of a day when she might revive the company into a 21st century brand. in 1934, hawley bowlus invented the first aluminum riveted trailer. some years and one MBA later, geneva and her father pulled the trigger, partnering to create a new chief in 2014 — just in time for instagram, high-speed wifi, and the conversion-van-boom to cross-pollinate and bloom an entire generation of people eager to leave their 9-5s for a life on the road.

ideally, this 3,300 pound aluminum lightweight might be pulled by a tesla x, or SUV hybrid — something to compliment the conscientious efficiency of endless highway’s lithium-iron-phosphate battery and 120-watt solar panel. it really doesn’t matter though. geneva pulls hers with her porsche panamera. it’s really less about the car and more about the cool, slender design tunneling through the air. when running at all-circuits-go, this road chief powers heated floors, a fridge, freezer, microwave, GPS, charging ports, cooktop and water heater — which can all be organized via bowlus’ first ever bluetooth-monitorable power management system.
