following the COVID-19 pandemic and all the effects it has had worldwide, a group of new york-based design students has created a clothing line inspired by the tools they use every day. dubbed boolean brands, the limited-edition collection comprises a hat, a t-shirt and a pair of socks that take a satirical approach to popular street style clothing while acknowledging the frivolousness of the brand itself.

‘due to covid-19, many of the jobs we relied upon this school year became unavailable,’ boolean brands told designboom. ‘we needed to find other means of making money to buy the expensive supplies we would need. using everyone’s abundance of time over the summer, we decided to create a clothing brand with the main goal to sell clothing with architectural supplies to raise money to purchase actual supplies!’

boolean brands celebrates the tools that allow students to bring their ideas from a non-existent space into the real world. for example, the hat resembles their favorite pens, while the t-shirt is based on their favorite glue. finally, the socks imitate the cutting mats every designer or architect keeps in their studio. all the proceeds of the project will then be given to organizations and communities to purchase supplies that have nurtured and influenced designers and architects throughout their careers.
