bezat design's stix coat hanger embodies sustainable danish design

designed and crafted by bezat design, a danish company based in roskilde, this minimal but functional coat hanger name ‘stix’, proves that even by following a pragmatic design philosophy, products can be made to be sustainable, low cost and easy to assemble without the need of tools. in this case, the beech wood and steel coat hanger arrives in a flatpack; to ensure a low carbon footprint and be an economic product.

the prototype of ‘stix’ was crafted in bezat design’s workshop which is led by interior designer klaus olsen and is now available to purchase from the designboom shop!

‘we always build the prototypes our selves. this gives us a first hand experience with the different materials, and teaches us how they interact.’ comments the designer. ‘sometimes designs are made entirely from a conceptual idea, not even drawn or rendered before building, the design comes alive and takes shape as the prototype is build. stix is currently just a prototype, so we are looking for manufacturers to take it to the market’
