bent wood tables by richard woods + sebastian wrong

bent wood tables’ by london-based designers richard woods + sebastian wrong, were influenced by the steaming process for their collection of furniture pieces on show at galerie VIVID during design miami 2012. a method still used today in udine, italy, where long planks are soaked to create curved and warped elements. the duo wanted to feature the raw, hand-crafted components as animated forms which are typically never seen in this way outside of the manufacturing process. woods’ colorful grain patterns were then applied to the surface of the fragments and then were stacked one on top of each other like tires in a mechanic shop. the units are available in four combinations,  in edition of 8, and two sizes.
