under the creative direction of demna gvasalia, fashion powerhouse balenciaga has been delivering quite controversial shoe designs — remember these crocs? in a new turn of events, and one that might have been quite obvious, balenciaga has collaborated with vibram — recognized worldwide for its patented FiveFingers shoes — to create the balenciaga toe collection, consisting of two limited-edition sneaker styles and a high-heeled style one.

first presented on the balenciaga’s winter ’20 runway — the one that featured watery floors — the company has now made their weird shoes available worldwide. meant to mimic the sensation of walking barefoot, the treaded, five-toed design is made with a socklike recycled-knit upper and modernized with a suspended heel.
