O&O Studio Melds East & West in Architectural Poker Card design

Pokermetric by O&O Studio, combines Eastern and Western design elements to create a set of poker cards infused with architectural qualities. The cards feature a primary color palette of red and blue, and the four suits and court characters are reimagined through architectural axonometric drawings. Each English letter and Arabic number is transformed into its corresponding Chinese character, rendered in a three-dimensional architectural style. This creates a high-density cityscape, reminiscent of Hong Kong, highlighting the spatial essence and cultural fusion within the design.

Pokermetric gift box follows the axonometric drawing theme

The concept of Pokermetric reinterprets traditional poker cards by infusing them with Chinese and architectural elements. Each card, from Ace to Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Joker, is represented by a Chinese capital character. These characters are depicted in an axonometric drawing style, each with distinct spatial characteristics, creating rich visuals. The cards come in a large gift box designed to open diagonally, aligning with the cutting line of the red and blue portions. The box by O&O Studio, includes the poker card set, a pair of red and blue stamp pads, and metal typesetting blocks featuring Chinese characters from one to ten. The Hong Kong-based studio lined the interior of the box with a compilation of poker card graphics, creating an axonometric drawing that emphasizes the architectural theme.
