antonio aricò's cathedral glass cabinets reveal a celestial quality

presented during the last operae design festival, antonio aricò unveils a new collection of furniture titled ‘cathedral glass cabinets’. drawing influence from churches and secular environments, aricò has teamed up with a local artisan to create the ethereal series which includes cabinets and side tables.   

composed of geometric forms, aricò builds upon the composition of stained glass windows within a new contemporary context. working with artisan sohelia dilfanian, the duo translated the vitrales art made for churches in turin, italy, into a collection made for the home. the overall aim of the project states aricò, was to blend the ‘outdoor world with the indoor’ so that when you open the doors of the cabinets ‘it would be like opening a bright window in your house’.
