anthony ryan schmidt captures miniature cars in exceptional life-like photography

12-year-old anthony ryan schmidt has been collecting model cars and photographing them in such manner that it’s difficult to see, at first glance, that they’re not the real-sized ones. the collection, which started when he was just two years old, spans over 600 cars, including both classic and newer versions. everyday, anthony takes a picture of a model car to help him overcome his daily challenges with autism and posts it to his over 5,500 followers on instagram.

anthony ryan schmidt began taking pictures of his miniature cars when he was six and his mother opened his instagram account when he was nine. ‘he takes a photo every day, at least one,’ says his mother. ‘we make that part of our day.’ his pictures showcase increasingly elaborate scenes, where the cars are captured in such way, that perspective plays its tricks and makes us believe the miniature cars are rather life-sized.
