Electric fan in anrealage uniforms at expo 2025 osaka

Anrealage designs the staff uniforms of the Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, complete with built-in electric fans. Drawn from the concept of parallel travel, the clothing uses wind to demonstrate the visual and feeling of traveling through time and space. The uniforms feature hundreds of blue dots over the white fabric, a symbol of connecting with distant beings. ‘These clothes transcend division and disparity, connect the dots, and expand human potential by sharing senses,’ says Anreleage founder Kunihiko Morinaga.

There are five pieces that make up the staff uniforms, including the outerwear, a polo shirt, a bag, a hat, and a logo badge. It’s the outerwear that bears the electric fans for when the staff roams around the Expo 2025 Osaka during the warm weather conditions. These devices sit on the lower-left side of the wearable, with the rotors protected by grilles. This is to avoid harming the staff from exposed rotating components. When the electric fan blows its wind, the NTT pavilion uniform at the Expo 2025 Osaka balloons, making the wearer resembles a ‘cloud.’

Polo shirt that fits anyone regardless of body type

The outwear comes with a polo shirt that the staff wears underneath. For its design, Anrealage, which has also produced clothing with LED and LCD screens, reconstructs the silhouette and detailed proportions so it can fit anyone regardless of their body type. Both the fashion brand’s outerwear with an electric fan and the polo shirt have the dot patterns all over them.

These design elements, which visitors to Expo 2025 Osaka can see, differ in size and color. However, they seem to blend together when viewed from afar, making them look like a single structure. The fabric of the polo shirt is made of Azek, a material provided by Shikibo Co., Ltd known for its breathability and quick-drying properties.

Hat and bag made of chemically recycled yarn

For both outerwear with an electric fan and polo shirt, the production process for the NTT pavilion staff uniforms at Expo 2025 Osaka uses Forearth. It is a textile inkjet printer provided by Kyocera Document Solutions Inc. and a water-based pigment ink that can be used to print on a variety of fabrics. The printing method is also water-independent, allowing for both the soft texture of the material and high durability.

Aside from these two pieces, the staff uniforms also come with a bucket hat and a sling bag. Both of these are made of chemically recycled yarn Muron fabric, which comes from 100 percent discarded fishing nets collected in Japan. A badge completes the uniform, made of photochromic fabric, so it changes color between indoors and outdoors.
