andrea branzi unveils new work at 'la nuova stanza' solo show at pianca & partners in milan

pianca & partners is hosting at its milan showroom la nuova stanza — a solo show by andrea branzi presenting a selection of the designer’s most recent works. the exhibition, which runs from thursday 25 february until 2 april 2021, marks the first collaboration between antonia jannone disegni di architettura and pianca & partners.

‘la nuova stanza is a happy, very vital room, where design is not born from new technologies, but from a different energy, full of vitality and surprises, the bearer of serene happiness,’ andrea branzi told designboom. ‘the puppets, the music, the ceramics, the maquettes, the lamps and the plexiglass, shine as if they had just been reborn, as when we inaugurate a new house… in a walled and hard milan, between porta tenaglia and via legnano, the large windows are bright as if new music bounced between a note and another.’

branzi continues, ‘as happened after the great plagues, the world is starting over and like tiny convalescents, we are going back to viewing our puppets with a different light and color… this childlike and (perhaps) temporary renaissance is the introduction to various rooms, in which everything is jumbled up, design with toys, culture with surprises, art galleries with showrooms…’

la nuova stanza presents visitors with branzi’s universe, one filled with archetypes, portals, marble, plexiglass and nature, always inviting simplicity and kindness. its through the materials — iron, stone, marble, ceramic, fabric — that branzi develops his profound and delicate design thoughts, those of one of the most important masters of italian design.
