munich-based designer alexander rehn has created the ROCCA stool for swedish furniture manufacturer materia AB. formed using steel tubing, the playful chair is designed to rock back and forth, helping your body keep active when you’re sitting for hours in front of the computer or during an informal meeting.

simple and elegant, the steel tubing gives the ROCCA stool its minimalist appearance while also making it easy to carry to a meeting or presentation. the steel ring at the base of the chair is uneven to encourage user’s movement. when in a group, they form a unit that interacts. alexander rehn says, ‘I wanted to design a fun product that would encourage the body to move, a way to stay active.’
the design is topped with a soft, padded covering, letting users sit comfortably. the ROCCA stool is available in a range of bright, youthful colors: from dusty pink to mustard yellow. you can find out more about the product on the materia AB website here.
