aisin seiki propose culture’s future with imagine new days exhibition

presented at superstudio, during the 2015 milan design week, designers at aisin seiki co., ltd. created the ‘imagine new days’ exhibition which proposed the culture of the future and made it a reality. it featured the ‘ILY-A’, a personal mobility device which enhances the company’s automotive manufacturing expertise, and the interactive furniture ‘ILY-I’. developed by furo, the transportation machine serves as futuristic legs for people of all ages. it aims to create a strong connection with people, offering four different modes; vehicle, kickboard, cart and carry.

whereas the ‘ILY-A’ can be used in all kinds of scenes and for any activity, the ‘ILY-I’ is purposed for the indoors. with a controller that is battery powered, users can sit and direct their journey, whilst allowing its sensors to regulate the speed. the intelligent armchair, created with the aid of setsu & shinobu ITO, enables compact moving such as walking and rotating, which is ideal for inside use. the project aimed to explore how superior design can support our daily lives. it envisioned a wide range of thoughts for next-generation lifestyle and culture, as well as providing ambition for tomorrow.
