with winter approaching, adidas has launched their first series of snowboarding boots including pro rider jake blauvelt’s signature model and a re-interpretation of the classic samba soccer shoe. the new boots are full of technological features including continental rubber soles, recco avalanche rescue technology, aerotherm thermal barrier, and even recycled coffee ground materials for odor neutralization. drawing design reference from adidas’ high-end F-50 and predator models, ‘the blauvelt’ is the company’s top-of-the-line boot. in addition to the snowboarding version of the classic samba sneaker, adidas has also released the ‘samba W’, a women’s adaptation of the mens’ samba boot that takes on a contemporary approach. the footwear features a rose camo print influenced by ‘rose city’ in portland, oregon – home of adidas snowboarding.
