10 years with ettore sottsass

’10 years with ettore’ was a celebration of the projects of ettore sottsass which he designed in the last ten years of his life. each object and piece of furniture ettore produced had its own story and origin, realized in a particular moment for a precise reason. held at the galleria clio calvi rudy volpi, the pieces on show each addressed the intellectual motives and sentiments which sottsass expressed through his work. for sottsass design was about communicating an emotion while having fun doing it -experiencing moments of enthusiasm and joy. hence, works like ‘foresta’ and ‘akub’ are not just a desk and a cabinet. they make room for dreaming and something more than their obvious function. some of the projects on show have remained prototypes until now.
