from hundreds of exciting proposals, iF design award 2021 recognizes some of the most relaxing, functional and sophisticated looking bathroom and wellness designs that pair privacy into ultimate comfort. from EFFE’s fully tailored, forest-like sauna to AXOR‘s monolithic rain shower features, the 10 winners – including two gold awards – remind designers and customers the endless possibilities and combinations that these wellness features entail.

to relive the ancient practices of wellbeing, yoku SH brings together a sauna, a turkish bath, and a shower in a spa. the italian minimalist design is one of the two gold winners, featuring a warm and welcoming space creating the optimal experience whether in the middle of a forest or in a private suite. in natural wood, a recessed glass wall and smoked bronze, a cozy feeling is at anyone’s feet.

merging purity with sophistication, german ‘AXOR one showers’ offers a wide range of products. including overhead showers, the clean appearance of the design follows the brand’s characteristic monolithic graphic language. to still fit the requirements of the client though, the entire range can be personalized in matt black or an exclusive AXOR finishplus surface.

‘suspension floor drain’ marks the second gold winner in the list. the chinese floating drain accelerates water drainage as the amount of water used is being measured and monitored. to elaborate, the repulsion between equal magnetic poles reacts with the floating ball, lifting the drain’s cover up; once the water has drained completely, the cover descends again. as a result, the product’s automatic lifting mechanism levitation facilitates cleaning and maintenance.

adapted to service people with limited mobility, chinese product ‘dylan barrier-free bathroom’ comprises 7,8sqm of an open, safe and comfortable space. to plan the project, research on the physical and psychological characteristics of the injured, disabled and the elderly was carried through. as a result, a toilet, wash and shower area are designed taking into consideration both emotional and practical aspects.

who doesn’t enjoy the perks of being wrapped in a warm towel after a shower? american design ‘underscore wall mount heater’ keeps bathroom goods soft, tidy and most certainly dry. the series of electronic towel warmers enhances storage, especially for those in a modern and compact living style. more specifically, the product’s modular construction allows customers to create personalized sizes for a variety of scenarios, all complemented with the add-on accessories that come with it.

with a high degree of customization, versatility is optimized with bathroom furniture ‘solid’. the italian design pleases all sorts of tastes and aesthetics as the multiple elements of the product can be arranged in numerous ways creating various solutions. available in matte black, gray and dove-gray finished, the metal structure is complemented with the addition of a wooden shelf. the combination allows the accommodation of over 100 models of countertop washbasins, also provided in eight different colors.
