this ‘concept ice vehicle’ was designed to aid andrew regan & andrew moon on their trans-antarctic expedition. it is equipped with a special radar that can detect hidden crevasses, has a minimum of moving parts (which are liable to freeze up) and is light enough to be man-hauled across rough terrain. the CIV acts as a pilot for the two heavier science support vehicles being used on the expedition. the CIV was designed and engineered by kieron bradley and jason de carteret.
