london gallery sadie coles presents an immersive filed of ‘small rain’ by urs fischer at art basel miami beach. a psychedelic sea of pastel-colored plaster raindrops pour overhead visitors to the gallery booth with a quality that resonates with a cartoonish flair. reclining nude figures are repeated throughout the floor space, each casually lying headless on a crudely formed chaise lounge. evocative of tragic pompeian casts from ancient times, the fragmented ladies contrast the mass of colorful, windswept raindrops above.

in december of last year, designboom featured the fischer’s presented at sadie coles HQ in london, centering around an undulating sea of 3,000, pastel-colored raindrops suspended throughout the galley’s expanse.
