earlier this year, london-based digital art and design collective universal everything caught out attention with their series of visionary prototypes for future displays. called screens of the future, the project that sees short, pasted-hue films featuring existing technologies modified by emerging ones has been expanded thanks to the addition of new films. objects become displays made of materials capable of shifting their shape to a point where the viewer becomes aware of their context and functionality.

with a total of 28 films, universal everything’s screens of the future is currently being exhibited at the ‘digital creatures’ exhibition at ex dogana in rome. the collective show features works by european artists who are exploring what the future might look like. with the project, the studio aims to highlight humanity’s increasingly integrated relationship with technology, serving as product demos of our near future.
