grass carpet winds through a french village the interactive bio-sculpture was developed for jaujac, france and is made from 168 rollers of grass at a length of 1,400 feet. gaëlle villedary created the work ‘tapis rouge!’ to help connect inhabitants of the village with nature in the surrounding valley.

new underwater ink photographs by alberto seveso italian photographer alberto seveso has created ‘a due colori’ in which the sensuous curls of dual-colored ink plumes disperse underwater.

the week in art with colossal march 10th   16th, 2012 the ‘stenop.es’ project converts apartment buildings into camera obscura– this is a view of pushkar, a city in india, is displayed upon a bedroom wall this photograph is shown at a 180° rotated perspective in order to show the city imagery right-side up.apartment pinhole camera the stenopes project photographers romain alary and antoine levi  have created the ‘stenop.es’ project by transforming apartment rooms into pinhole cameras, bringing the outdoors indoors as the landscapes viewed outside are cast (upside down) upon the interior walls.

bloom 28000 potted flowers installed at the massachusetts mental health center to answer the questions of how does one memorialize a building rich with sadness while simultaneously eliminating the variable of words in how the story is relayed to the public, artist anna schuleit was brought to the massachusetts mental health center to communicate these sentiments. after an initial tour of the facility she was struck not with what she saw but with what she didn’t see: the presence of life and color. while historically a place of healing, the drab interior, worn hallways, and dull paint needed a respectful infusion of hope.

a hand-painted typographic experiment by tien-min liao ‘handmade type’ is a typographic experiment by designer tien-min liao wherein shapes painted on her hands are transformed by gestures to create letterforms with the painted figures on her hands utilized for in all variations of every letter, both upper and lowercase and sometimes even italic and handwritten.

cute + quirky mini-food jewelry these mini-food rings were created by sofia, a canadian designer living in japan. her etsy company, souzoucreations, develops jewelery from plastic food toys, wood, pottery and japanese chiyogami paper.

‘minilook kiev’ by efim graboy + daria turetski

stop motion video a tilt shift spring day in kiev this short stop-motion film has been captured in a simulated miniature perspective through the photographers’ use of tilt-shift photography. in order to create this affect, graboy and turetski filmed a day in kiev through a short depth of focus and a collection of 4,500 frames with a canon 550d camera.

miniature watch motorcycles by dmitry khristenko the ukranian-born USA residing artist makes highly intricate small models of motorcycles from old wristwatch parts. each miniature vehicle work is both entertaining and a little mind boggling.

dan witz mosh pits street and studio artist dan witz creates super photo-realistic and hyper-detailed paintings of mosh pits. when I first checked these out, I almost couldn’t believe they were not real– amazing.

kiki van eijk hermes windows at bijenkorf amsterdam eindhoven’s studio kiki van eijk has developed five different window displays for Hermès on display at the department store bijenkorf amsterdam. van eijk decided to express her vision through the brand’s 2012 theme ‘the gift of time’ as individual installations show a different way to interpret time. ‘time is even more precious now than before. it’s the biggest jewel you can have. why not juggle with time? and show the different aspects of it! it’s just how you look at it, and it’s all about your perception of time,’ said the artist.
