the 7th gwangju biennale, ‘annual report: a year in exhibitions’ at: biennale hall, gwangju museum of art, uijae museum of korean art, daein traditional market, cinema gwangju from: september 5th – november 9th, 2008
this year celebrates the 7th gwangju biennale, one of korea’s most well-known art events. most fairs and large scale exhibitions are often curated based on similarities in subject matter between pieces, however the works in this year’s biennale were selected based on their execution and quality and not necessarily a theme. the biennale has filled the city of gwangju with works from 127 artists representing 36 countries. on show are a selection of works from international exhibitions which were held over the past year with works ranging in medium from photography installations, video works to large scale installations.
