greek director thanasis tsimpinis has just released a short film entitled ‘m i n e’ to accompany the song ‘running out of you’ by keep shelly in athens. the video hazy, surrealistic picnic scene depicts a male protagonist who creates geometric symbols by means of a rose used as a drawing device in the air and cereal arranged on a picnic blanket. the bud of the rose remains frozen in time as his movement continues as he creates a precise spacing in a circle, triangle, and lines as the protagonist. the film ends with a full glass of spilled milk and the death of one of the two picnicees as the camera descends from the scene, seeming to bury itself beneath the grass.
