terry rodgers is an american based painter known for his photo-realist contemporary character studies. while his early work focused upon personal and family relationships with a somewhat nostalgic kitsch more recent paintings have represented a vision of a dark underbelly of america’s privileged youth. rodgers expertly directs the players in his paintings, collaged together from photographs, to make busy compositions unbalanced by the isolation of each individual.
