for their latest project, titled ‘BLOCBIRDS’, dutch-based studio 212 fahrenheit has paid homage to the diverse beauty of birds. inspired by mother nature, the work translates the color and unique plumage of 25 european species into 25 graphic illustrations. displayed side by side, the installation places the squares in front of the (stuffed) birds they represent, allowing visitors to enjoy the wide spectrum of hues found in the natural world.

over a year-and-a-half, studio 212 fahrenheit has translated, with mathematical precision, the colored feathers of european birds into illustrations using only squares. in order to keep the birds recognizable, the team tried to find the perfect composition with the right amount of color. in essence, BLOCBIRDS intends to show the beauty of ordinary birds, and overall, the beauty that can be found in nature.
