Véra Kempf, Denis Fayolle and Brice Lecompte founded SINGULART in 2017, with the dream of creating a more equal art world. The entrepreneurs noticed that the traditional market was highly fragmented and organized by individual countries due to many creatives not having their work established digitally. By creating an online showcase, the artist’s work is viewed internationally and therefore gains much better opportunities. Between the 9000 art collectors and establishment of their own agency, the online gallery averages 1700 artworks sold per month.

Giving artists an equal chance

The online gallery breaks down the barrier between artist and art lover to form greater inclusivity, while forcing the modern art market to improve. As the success of the business grows, so too does the SINGULART team, with over 120 international members that speak over 25 languages. As a further testament of their commitment to equality; 49% of artists represented at SINGULART are female.

On the homepage, visitors explore trending pieces, new artworks, and curatorial picks chosen by SINGULART’s expert team of collectors. For the art connoisseur with a specific vision in mind for a piece to enhance their space, one would utilize the website’s ‘Shop By Art Style’ feature. Styles include: Abstraction; Landscape; Portrait; Urban; Pop Culture; and Street Art. In the ‘Discover’ section, users can follow their favorite artists and uncover new up-and-coming artworks from around the world. The success of the company is proof of the concept that the traditional art market was not doing enough to empower artists in modern times, and thus deciding to expand. The online gallery launched the SINGULART AWARDS to further strengthen the careers of represented artists. In 2022, the esteemed jury members from the SINGULART SOCIETY selected Painter of the Year, Sculptor of the Year, and Photographer of the Year. To continue their quest in democratizing the art market, SINGULART launched a new platform named balthasart dedicated purely to up-and-coming artists as well as young art collectors.
