Gregory Orekhov envelops hotel room in silver bubble wrap

Located in the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, artist Gregory Orekhov’s Dream Shuttle transforms the art space of the Toile Blanche hotel into a surreal environment where reality intertwines with dreams. Orekhov covers the walls, ceiling, and floor with silver bubble wrap, creating a mirrored effect that visually expands the gallery and evokes a sense of infinity. Pillows made from the same material invite visitors to sit and immerse themselves in a meditative state, accompanied by music composed specifically for the installation by Nikita Subbotin. The installation offers an interactive experience, encouraging visitors to engage with the space and contribute their inner world to the environment. Each visit is distinct, shaped by the personal reflections brought into the gallery, creating a unique journey into the visitor’s consciousness.

the exhibition merges reality with dreams

In addition to Dream Shuttle, two other works by Gregory Orekhov are featured on the hotel grounds. Magic Bed, a polished mirror stainless steel folding bed, reflects the surrounding sky and landscape, symbolizing the ideal world imagined by the artist. Fust, a dried tree trunk covered in gold leaf, stands as a metaphor for renewal, evoking the form of an architectural column while suggesting new life through art. The exhibition by the Russian artist explores the intersection of dreams and reality, inviting visitors to step away from the ordinary and engage with a space where they become creators of their own experiences.
