RITZWIRTH unveils ‘anderswar’, an installation with the aim to create a new experience of indoor space and the outside world exhibited at kunsthaus ‘pasquart’ in switzerland. the installation invades the museum’s ‘white cube’ interior and reinterprets the function of the kunsthaus building.  the project includes 3 periscopes and is inspired by the currently exceptional situation of COVID-19.

RITZWIRTH constructed 3 periscopes, which function like optical tubes to the outside, attached to the building like parasites. they allow views of the outside and, in some cases, conversely into the building as well. the down-turned periscope allows a view over the roofs to the kongresshaus biel CH (urban planning of the city and architectural, brutalist heritage of the city). the designers also designed a sky periscope where the view is directed from the skylight to the visitor.

with the double periscope, the viewer can look at the entrance on the first floor of the museum, and vice versa from the outside into the salle poma at night. the three periscopes are constructed of wooden slats and construction wall panels and extend to the outside, overtaking the kunsthaus building.
