architect and photographer pygmalion karatzas is currently traveling in the U.S. on a fulbright artist scholarship and he is sharing with us some of his work thus far. the selection is from new york and boston. both cities have a strong connection to the sea, and the images explore the piers, parks, and vistas from those waterfronts. being such well-known landmarks, the long exposure technique and manual blending of different exposures in post-processing is used to create unique lighting and feeling impressions. the fresh set of eyes of a traveler exploring new urban spaces is coupled with the experience of the local hosts to evoke our memory.
