constructed entirely from delicate paper panels, ‘the garden’ by shanghai-based multidisciplinary company super nature design is featured as part of the ‘paper infinite exhibition’ at réel in shanghai. the artwork consists of circular layers that gradually decrease in their diameter to host a white orchid in the middle. intricately cut out patterns provide a level of transparency in the panels and help to create a sense of density across the ‘garden’. made from 370gsm ivory paper, the die cut was created using a cnc machine, and the trimmed shape allows it to stand firmly in a circular form. reflecting onto the surrounding floor, the patterns in the paper are clearly visible, making the garden naturally spread onto its surroundings.

the exhibition is organized by antalis (www.antaliscn.com), the main creative paper distributor in china will be shown until 7/10/2013 at reel in shanghai.
