japanese artists ryuta iida and yoshihisa tanaka of nerhol have designed a full alphabet carved from books, delineating each letter form with the paper medium. ‘oratorical type’ comprises A through Z, abstractly engraved from layers upon layers of paper sheets. the capital letters have been intricately composed through the overlapping of paper: shavings of the stacked material compose geometric shapes and forms that correspond an individual character of the alphabet. although the typeface is tangible and has been manifested in the physical world, a digital version is achieved through photography, which allows the uppercase symbols to be transferred and used on screen.
