changing gradually throughout the day, ‘shadow city’ by eindhoven-based designer izabela boloz, follows the moving position of the sun. located in østerbro, copenhagen the public artwork is based on the history of the city, with the shadows of 52 iconographics cast onto a 100m long wall. introducing an element of surprise and intrigue to the nearby pedestrian bridge, the inhabitants of copenhagen transiting through the space are exposed to an ever-changing image of the city. the reflected images invite passers-by to take a closer look and observe the evolving details in their surroundings. the work displays the concept of time in a visual format as the reflected shadows travel across the wall. created in collaboration with metro, copenhagen the installation will be on view from the summer of 2013 until the autumn of 2014.
