HENSE paints colossal prismatic passageway at perth’s curtin university

on the ceiling of a pedestrian passageway connecting the campus of perth’s curtin university, HENSE has realized a sprawling and vibrant 200 by 60 foot mural. using the architecture of the building as an outdoor canvas, the street artist has added a prismatic display of organic geometries and abstract shapes that create a field of color overhead.

HENSE‘s abstract painting blends bold color with expressive gestures and vivid forms. conscious of the supporting architecture, the mural dramatically transforms the existing landscape, turning the building into an epically-scaled color canvas. large red shapes meet organic pink, purple, yellow and green geometries, forming a kaleidoscopic composition overhead. the colossal piece creates a distinct dialogue between various shapes, structures and tones — through a process of which realizes a larger-than-life abstraction of textured surfaces and layered forms. the project has been realized as part of public2016 by FORM — a non-profit cultural organization that develops artistic practices throughout western australia.
