‘recording pure energy’ is a project by françois xavier saint georges that uses a small contraption to document the energy of school kids aged from 6 to 10. each one was given a ‘record-tube’ with a piece of paper and moving bit of graphite inserted into it. the device was worn as either a necklace or placed in a pocket, so that it could draw the child’s day as they carried it around with them. over 200 drawings were gathered over a 6 month period and the results reveal very different outcomes – some are excited, others extremely still – but each one a unique depiction of the bodyfrom which it came.
