‘flow’ smart wall by studio roosegaarde blows you awayinstallation at city hall in de hague
the 21c museum in bentonville USA has expanded its art collection with the acquisition of dutch artist daan roosegaarde’s ‘flow’ – combining human senses and technology to make experiential ‘techno-poetry’. composed of ventilators that interact with passing visitors, the intervention introduces fresh wind to the new american museum. as users walk past the exhibition, passers-by trigger the emergence of an illusive landscape of transparent fields and artificial gusts of air.
the project heightens the self-consciousness as a collective body, becoming one with space and technology. in dormant state, ‘flow’ creates a series of geometrical patterns, whereas sometimes the letters ‘A I R’ may appear.
