felix gonzalez-torres: double plateau, samsung museum of art, seoul, south korea on now until september 28th, 2012

an exhibition featuring the late contemporary cuban artist felix gonzalez-torres‘ pieces are on display at samsung museum of art’s plateau space. gonzalez-torres’ collection of subtle, minimalist artworks, formed from his favored materials such as timepieces, light bulbs, and individually wrapped hard candies. the solo installation is comprised of forty-four works which speak to the artist’s most celebrated themes and materials. this installation of gonzalez-torres’ work entitled ‘double’ includes ‘placebo’, a take-away element artwork consisting of wrapped candy; almost identical wall clocks entitled ‘perfect lovers’; or his massive billboard pieces portraying an unmade bed with the impressions of two unknown persons entitled ‘untitled’, plastered upon advertizing spaces throughout the metropolitan area.
