on a recent post, mark zuckerberg revealed a set of photos exploring the interiors of some facebook offices, showcasing an ample collection of art pieces. ever since their first office, facebook has invited local artists to intervene their walls in order to inspire creativity and create an evolving environment.

‘I’ve always believed our offices should feel like a work in progress, just like our products and the community we’re trying to build,’ comments mark zuckerberg. ‘when you step onto our campus, you should feel like you can shape the world around you.’

following the artist’s interventions in their offices, facebook now has a print studio and workshop called the ‘facebook analog research laboratory’ — a creative space for design and art-making. the lab invites teams to take a break and draw something or make a print to hang in the office’s walls. and although the medium of choice favors the analog, it doesn’t neglect the digital while it invites the users to ask questions and build things. many of the resulting pieces highlight the company’s values like staying connected, building community and helping people.

the lab runs an artist-in-residency program where they invite emerging artists from the local scene and from around the world to join the facebook campus and experiment with it as if it were their canvas.
