in his new visual project, germany-based artist and designer jan baumgartner reveals the power of minimal lines and vivid colors, calling all creatives to embrace it. the project takes shape as a bold selection of images, showcasing human figures interacting with simple linear elements against vibrant monochromatic backgrounds. 

jan baumgartner consciously transforms the tension of colors and shapes into spaces with his compositions. for this purpose, the necessary elements are reduced to a minimum and deliberately oversimplified, so that the colors and the people catch the attention of the viewer. for the designer, this kind of colorful spatial art is a means to consciously leave everyday life and lose himself in the spaces.

the work starts with a pen and a piece of paper, while jan baumgartner begins visualizing spaces through basic shapes, which are then reproduced in a visual model and supplemented with colors. this step is the most elaborate, as the color influences the entire picture and serves as a guide. last but not least, people are deliberately placed at exciting points in the picture as a scaling element, thus creating the overall spatial perception.
