following his ‘no escape‘ public performance in milan, chaosteria returns with a quietly beautiful light installation. composed of just balloons, a desk lamp, and colored bulbs, the piece focuses on a balloon as it slowly shrinks in size and dims in brightness, like an imploding star amid the vast darkness of space.

the landscape architect turned artist explains, ‘balloons and table lamps are an interesting combination. not only can the size of the bulb be changed at will, but what is more interesting to me is that as the gas leaks in the balloon, the brightness of the light gradually dims, just like the disappearing stars in the universe.’
